Hi, my name is

Edgardo Morales Cosme

QA Software Tester · Software Engineer

I build software and I know exactly where it can break. Passionate about using technology — and AI — to solve real problems for real people.

01. About Me

I'm a Software Quality Assurance Tester at SMX Services & Consulting, working on banking applications for Popular Bank — but I'm a builder at heart. I started my career as a developer, and writing code is still the part of the job where I lose track of time. That mix is my strength: I believe a QA who understands how the software is built doesn't just find bugs — they understand why bugs happen and can propose real solutions.

I've always been the curious type who takes things apart to fix them and figure out how they work; that's what pulled me into software in the first place. Most of what I know I taught myself by exploring and building, and that hasn't stopped — right now I'm going deep into AI, with one goal: creating things that genuinely make people's lives easier. I've also been exploring cybersecurity — application security and defense — which feels like a natural extension of the QA mindset: think like an attacker, so you can protect people.

Away from the keyboard I study financial markets — trading, long-term investing, blockchain and crypto. What fascinates me about markets is the same thing that draws me to AI: how these systems move and the impact they have on society. Long term, I want to build something of my own — a product that solves a real problem. I hold a Bachelor's in Computational Science from Antillean Adventist University and I'm based in Las Marías, Puerto Rico.

02. How I Think

Understand first, then act

Before jumping into solutions, I make sure I truly understand the problem. Once you see a problem clearly, the right way to attack it reveals itself.

Technology is measured by its impact

What fascinates me about AI and financial markets is the same thing: how these systems move and shape society. Software is truly good when its impact on people is positive — not just when it works, and not just when it makes money.

AI will transform everything

Every industry, every job. I'd rather be the one learning it and building with it than the one catching up. I use AI every day — as a tutor, and as a partner for creating things I couldn't build alone.

Learn by building

I'm self-taught by nature. My way of learning is picking a real project, investigating, applying, and figuring things out on the way — not waiting until I feel 'ready'.

Mistakes are part of building

If you never make mistakes, you're not trying anything new. In code and in life: analyze what happened, learn from it, keep building.

Ask questions, help others

In a team I'm the one asking the questions nobody else asks — and the one helping a teammate get unstuck. Both come from the same place: caring about understanding, not just finishing.
